Find out how angels get their wings with the Christmas classic cited among the greatest films ever made. Celebrating 80 years since its 1946 release, “It’s A Wonderful Life” was directed by Frank Capra and stars Jimmy Stewart as smalltown savings and loan owner George Bailey who contemplates suicide on Christmas Eve following a bank error that may bring down his business. Answering prayers of concerned family and friends, a guardian angel arrives to illustrate just how rich George is from his lifetime of generosity and kindness. Costarring Donna Reed as George’s high school sweetheart/spouse, and Lionel Barrymore as an unscrupulous businessman behind the perilous banking “error” this film earned six Oscar nominations and became a holiday staple for generations. “It’s A Wonderful Life” is presented with the Rialto’s recently upgraded digital projector, screen and sound system.
