Downtown Atlanta Inc. Hosts Georgia Gubernatorial Candidates for Member Conversations
Categories: Members • Downtown Businesses • Economic Development • News
Downtown Atlanta sits at the center of Georgia’s civic, economic, and cultural life, making it an important place for conversations about the future of our city, region, and state.
As part of our commitment to keeping members informed and engaged, Downtown Atlanta Inc. recently welcomed Georgia’s two major-party gubernatorial candidates, Republican Rick Jackson and Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms, for separate, exclusive conversations with our membership.
Jackson, founder and CEO of Jackson Healthcare, brings decades of business leadership to his first campaign for elected office. Bottoms brings extensive public-sector experience, including serving as Atlanta’s 60th mayor, a member of Atlanta City Council and a judge.
At each event, members heard directly from the candidates about their priorities and, importantly, had the opportunity to ask their own questions about issues affecting Downtown Atlanta and the broader region.

The conversations gave our members direct access to the two candidates seeking to lead Georgia while giving the candidates an opportunity to hear from the businesses, institutions, organizations and stakeholders invested in Downtown’s future.
As a nonpartisan organization, Downtown Atlanta Inc. is proud to serve as a convener for important civic conversations like these. Connecting our members with leaders and decision-makers is one of the ways we ensure Downtown has a voice in the conversations shaping Atlanta and Georgia.
Because when Georgia talks about its future, Downtown is part of the conversation.
