Waide brings more than a decade of transformative leadership at the Food Bank, where he helped dramatically expand the organization’s reach, strengthen its network of more than 700 nonprofit partners, and build coalitions across Atlanta. “I love both the city we are today and the city I believe we can become,” said Waide. “Downtown is central to Atlanta’s identity and the face we present to the world. This is a moment of great possibility.”
Waide will succeed A.J. Robinson, who has led the organization for 23 years, at a pivotal moment for Atlanta’s original neighborhood. Following Downtown’s recent growth, investment and the momentum of hosting the world for FIFA, Waide will work alongside Downtown Atlanta Inc.’s staff, members and partners to build on A.J.’s extraordinary legacy and help shape what comes next. “Together, we can build a Downtown that offers a world-class experience to everyone who comes here to live, work, learn, and play,” Waide said.
